The Together Campaign

The Full Story

The Together Campaign provides the slogan “&Together” which takes the pledge to declare to stand with all communities subjected to discrimination. The “&” represents the power of our voices together to accelerate acceptance for all, including LGBTQ+ acceptance, creating a more inclusive culture, achieving collective liberation, and as well as providing a gender inclusive fashion collection. The organization provides the argument and movement for people to identify as fluid and nonbinary and provide a place to shop that doesn’t force the people to pick a gender that does not feel right, either choosing between male and female. The organization also points out further improvement for the collection to help the movement of inclusivity. The campaign has joined with ASOS, fashion retailer, and GLAAD, an organization to stop binary beliefs, in order to enforce acceptance to provide an inclusive fashion collection, the gender-neutral capsule collection.

Sabrina Noone: About

Tommy Dorfman

Non-Hispanic Caucasian actor who was raised in Atlanta, Georgia in which he graduated from Fordham University’s drama program with a Bachelor’s in theatre arts. Dorfman was casted in the role of Ryan Shaver in the Netflix drama TV series, 13 Reasons Why in 2017. In this same year of 2017, Dorfman helped design a fashion collection with ASOS, the gender-neutral capsule collection, and was rewarded the Rising Star Award by GLAAD. Dorfman is married to Peter Zurkuhlen. In 2018, Dorfman announced his non-binary and goes by they/them pronouns. In an interview, Dorfman recollected, “In middle school, I broke. I threw out all of my "girls” clothes and started wearing my brother’s hand-me-downs: skater pants, polo shirts, cargo shorts. I couldn’t fight anymore. I spent years hiding from myself and others.” This showcases the problem before the movement was evident. Many people feel contradicted since they do not fit in one gender over the other. Dorfman partnered with ASOS and GLAAD on the Together Campaign to provide a non gendered clothing line. This collaboration will provide a way to educate people on the community’s facets that are not always showcased.
