HANFU MOVEMENT

The Full Story

The Hanfu Movement is a fashion movement that started in the early 2000's as a way to bring back remnants of ancient Chinese heritage by way of means of fashion in China. This movement was incidental to UNESCO's protection of intangible cultural heritage and coincided with the ratification of it on China's part. Today, UNESCO's sector in China still proceeds to work towards protection towards the cultural artifact, which involves the nuances regarding gender.

Yang Zhi

Yang Zhi is the director for the International Training Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage in China. Zhi works to spread awareness and a deeper appreciation for the kinds of clothing and fashion people wore in the previous eras in China.
